Sonning Hockey Club had been around, in one form or another, for over 60 years. We’re now running 6 men’s and 5 ladies teams (including a full vets side), and our colts section.

Sonning was awarded the Clubs First National Hockey Accreditation for junior coaching and development in December 2004.

 

We were the first club in
Berkshire, and at the time of the award, were one of only 20 clubs in the UK to achieve this accreditation.
 

Coaching is headed by 2 x Olympian John Shaw who went to both the Barcelona and Atlanta Olympics and ensures growth and development within the teams.

 

Based at the Berkshire County Sports Club we have a large club house with a bar and lounge area, two separate function rooms, changing rooms and toilets, and full disabled access.
